Preparing For Your Visit

Medical travel checklist

Medical travel guide list
  1. Have a valid passport: check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date, and whether you need a visa.
  2. Buy travel insurance: it protects you against the unexpected, such as cancelled or delayed flights, lost baggage or theft.
  3. Consider medical tourism insurance: some patients insure their medical trip for extra peace of mind. Check that the policy covers your medical needs.
  4. Prepare the required documents for your visa application and entry certificate.
  5. Money matters: whether you pay by cash or card, bring enough money plus some local currency. Tell your bank and card providers about your trip and any large payments abroad, so they don’t block your account, and check exchange rates.
  6. Keep contact details for your healthcare provider, patient assistant and transport provider.
  7. Check the weather forecast at your destination and pack accordingly.
  8. Health precautions: keep up to date with vaccination recommendations and other health requirements.
  9. Make copies of your passport and immunisation records and keep them separately. A copy makes it much easier to replace a lost passport.
  10. Book a suitable flight, and arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport.
  11. Install any required travel apps recommended for your stay in Thailand.

Acceptable masks at Vejthani Hospital

  • Surgical or procedure masks (tie or ear loop)
  • N95 or KN95 masks without vents
